Senior Scams: Tax Season Tricksters Posing as the IRS

With their huge pools of accumulated wealth, senior citizens are irresistible targets for scam artists looking to make a quick buck.

They’re especially active during this time of year, using the tax season as a cover to con taxpayers.

Even Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said recently that he fell for just such a scam.

A conman posing as an IRS agent called and left a message for Lew to call him back. But when he plugged the number into Google, Lew found it was associated with a scam that’s been going on for two years now.
